SuperValue Supermarkets Support Earth Hour

On Saturday 26th March 2011, SuperValue Supermarkets will take part in Earth Hour sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund. From 8:30pm - 9:30pm on 26th March (or if the supermarket closes before 9:30pm the last hour of trade), lighting which is not essential will be turned off. The event promises to be quite a significant statement towards unified action against climate change.

SuperValue Supermarkets are committed to reducing our environmental footprint and have already made some significant changes such as; new and redeveloped supermarkets have environmentally efficient equipment where possible, reducing plastic shopping bag use and reducing the amount of waste that's going into landfill.

Participating in Earth Hour is easy, fun and absolutely free and we would encourage everyone to participate by turning off their lights at home during the event.
